Nonprofits such as 318 Foundation exist to provide services and support to communities, addressing gaps or needs not adequately met by the government or other for-profit businesses and organizations. This means inherently, we rely on donations and other given funds to operate as a benefit to the community. 

But where exactly do these funds come from? 

Nonprofit funding comes from supporters such as yourselves! Individual donations are the backbone of our work and it is because of donors and supporters such as yourselves that we can work with and within the community. Donations and support come from generous individuals who believe in the work we’re doing and view donations as an investment in the well-being of the community. 

In addition to individual donations, nonprofits rely on corporate sponsorships, government grants, and partnerships with other philanthropic organizations.

318 Foundation, for example, is working to close the opportunity gap for girls in historically underserved communities through mentorship, immersive experiences, and sports. And this mission is only possible if we're able to secure adequate funding to complete both the programming, community involvement, and operational work.

In addition to the wonderful individual donations we have received, we've had the honor of partnering with philanthropic organizations such as the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education and the Engelstad Foundation. And just this past year we’ve been proud to partner with corporate sponsors who share and believe in our mission. In 2023, we partnered with Microsoft Give and local banks and businesses within Shreveport. By establishing these partnerships that align with our mission, we were able to match individual donor donations and double our impact. 

Securing funding has been a multifaceted approach and by tapping into individual donations, corporate sponsorships, government grants, and partnerships with other philanthropic organizations we’re working toward financial sustainability while making a lasting impact on the lives of high school girls in Shreveport, Louisiana. With continued strategic funding work, we can continue to inspire, mentor, and empower high school girls for a brighter and more inclusive future.
