318 Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the opportunity gap for girls in historically underserved communities through mentorship, immersive experiences, and sports. We aim to empower high schools and their communities through a tailored approach offered as three innovative programs: 318 VISION, 318 ACTION, and 318 SPORTS. We focus on assisting girls in developing their self-expression, fostering their individuality, promoting achievement and creativity, providing access to enriching life experiences, and connecting them to valuable networks in their fields of interest.
But exactly is our first program, 318 VISION?
318 VISION is the in-school programming leg of 318 Foundation, currently available to 9th-12th grade girls in 5 Shreveport area schools. Our curriculum, developed by 318 Program Director, Kristin Kelly, is tailored to the needs of each school. Available as a daily, weekly, and bi-weekly curriculum, 318 VISION works to build necessary leadership, networking, and additional soft skills to empower girls to reach beyond their surroundings.
Built on mentorship, 318 VISION helps high school girls (VISIONARIES) activate opportunities for self-discovery and impact through its six core pillars of VOICE, IDENTITY, SUCCESS, INNOVATION, OPPORTUNITY, and NETWORKING. In addition to in-class instruction, we connect our VISIONARIES with college and professional mentors, both of whom provide the necessary knowledge and experience to help navigate life beyond high school.
