What is 318 VISION?
We are an external non-profit organization dedicated to empowering high schools and their communities through a tailored approach. We focus on advancing futures by connecting Black girls and historically marginalized communities to a diverse network of industry leaders and opportunities.
318 VISION is the in-school programming leg of 318 Foundation, currently available to 9th-12th grade girls in 5 Shreveport area schools. Developed by 318 Program Director Kristin Kelly, our VISION program is dedicated to empowering high school girls through transformative opportunities for self-discovery and impact, focusing on the pillars of VOICE, IDENTITY, SUCCESS, INNOVATION, OPPORTUNITY, and NETWORKING (VISION).
To achieve this, we have cultivated a diverse and dedicated group of mentors comprising executives, athletes, entrepreneurs, influencers, and college students, all eager to share their life experiences.
These mentors engage with our participants (VISIONARIES), building meaningful mentor-mentee relationships in conjunction with a lead teacher from each school. Through this program, VISIONARIES have the space to share and celebrate their experiences and engage in leadership opportunities while gaining invaluable guidance, support, and encouragement, which prove to be instrumental in shaping their personal growth.
